  5.      The enclosed booklet is a programmer's guide to copyrighting
  6. software.  The materials give step-by-step instructions how you
  7. can file an application for a U.S. Certificate of Copyright
  8. Registration on your software.  The booklet, called simply "How to 
  9. Copyright Software (Yourself)," is written by an attorney/programmer
  10. in plain English...for a change.

  12.      The file COPR.TXT is saved as a standard ASCII text file
  13. with a hard carriage return at the end of each line.  It should
  14. print fine using the PRINT command,  or convert cleanly into most
  15. word processors.  Unfortunately, the official application forms
  16. required by the Copyright Office could not be included in this 
  17. straight text file because they have non-ASCII graphics.

  19.      This booklet is being distributed like shareware -- if you 
  20. read or use it, you are asked to send $12.95 plus $1.00 S&H to the
  21. address below. In exchange, you will receive the latest printed copy,
  22. including the appendix with the official forms and examples needed
  23. to file an application.
